DEYA Brewery Sustainable Energy Assessment

Case Study

Wattcraft was commissioned by DEYA Brewery to conduct an energy assessment to identify opportunities for reducing energy consumption and lowering the associated greenhouse gas emissions while aligning with DEYA’s objective of a sustainable, cost-effective pathway towards Net Zero emissions.

Key Findings and Outcomes:

  • Process Energy Mapping: We developed a detailed schematic showing energy distribution throughout the brewing process and opportunities for potential savings.

  • Recommendations: In line with the Energy Hierarchy, we prioritised demand reduction measures before considering sustainable energy supply options. Future recommended strategies included more detailed evaluation of heat recovery systems, exploring heat pump integration, and detailed electricity use profiling.

  • Impact: This assessment not only paved the way for DEYA Brewery to enhance energy efficiency and reduce costs but also allowed them to align their operational strategy with long-term Net Zero targets, demonstrating a clear commitment to sustainable business practices.
